The Mindset of a Successful Online Marketer

If you want to be a successful online marketer then the #1 thing that you must have is the “Marketing Mindset”. Most people might mistake this for the ‘Sales Mindset’ that is A-B-C which stands for “Always Be Closing”.

Marketing is very different than sales and if I had to choose to be a good marketer or a good salesman, I’d be a good marketer every day of the week.

The difference is that if you are a good marketer and set up the sale properly, you don’t have to sell at all – you simply take orders because the buyer already knows that he wants to buy from you. However, if you have bad marketing, even the best salesperson may have trouble because he’s talking to the wrong customer or someone who isn’t very interested.

Marketing is about understanding your target market and talking to that specific group in a way that will help them see why they should buy your product, service, personality, etc. This means that you must understand your prospect’s wants, needs, fears, and desires. If you know these key parts of their mental make up, then you can write, talk to, and direct them in a way that ignites their emotions and gets them to take action.

This is where the mindset of a successful online marketer is critical. How well can you understand your potential customer and craft a message that will appeal to them? How can you speak to them in terms that will allow them to understand how your product or service will take away their pain? Can you talk specifically enough to them that they will be nodding their head in agreement throughout your entire presentation?

The mindset of a successful online marketer is knowing how to be inside of the mind of your customer. If you can do this then you’ll never have to ‘close the sale’ again – you simply fulfill order requests.
